Punk, ambient, dub, noise,
poetry, wreckstep, jungle, installation, rice and beans... what more
could you want out of an evening? If there was ever a multi-media
event, the "junk" (humorously standing for "jungle vs. punk") show
this Friday at the Villa Victoria will be it.
While most shows cater
to the tastes and aesthetics of a particular artistic demographic,
the crew at Toneburst productions is attempting to trancend style
hang-ups and predilections by assembling an eclectic, extenseve, and
esoteric lineup of performers, which they hope will draw the
Although the nature of
a show usually dictates that the emphasis will be on the performers,
Toneburst is attempting to create a living installation encompassing
performance, audience, and enviornment. The goal is that this show
will be more of an event in and of itself, not just a venue fot a
set of performances. Accordingly, they have not released set times
for any performances, hoping to eliminate the intentions of audience
members to go for some acts and not for others; instead, it is hoped
that people will expose themstlves to the spectrum of featured styles,
and perhaps be turned on to some new sounds and ideas.
